Foam Coating

All of these recipes may be adjusted to suit your needs. All can be thinned, or thickened by adjusting the proportion of Foam-Coat, Filler, and Thinner.

Material #1  - affordable, sandable, light, thinned with water, flexable, versatile (durable)
Steve's Foam Coat
Material #2  - expensive, sandable, light, thinned with water, brittle (very durable)
Aqua Resin (use with fiberglass veil)


Material #3  - expensive, sandable, medium weight, hard, water-based (relatively durable)
Durham's Water Putty


Material #4  - cheap, non-sandable, light, flexable (relatively-durable)
Papier Mache (paper & wallpaper paste)


Material #5  - cheap, sandable, very light, flexable, tricky to work with (non-durable)
Acryl-Pro Ceramic Tile Adhesive


Material #6  - cheap, sandable, heavy, hard, tricky to work with (durable)
Hydro-Stone (sculpture-grade plaster)

Recipe #1  -  somewhat sandable
3 qts flat latex paint
3 - 5 tubes acrylic latex painters caulk
1 cup Joint compound

Recipe #2  -  sandable – non flexible
1 gallon latex paint
1 cup Joint compound
1/2 cup water putty

Recipe #3  - somewhat sandable,
1 quart of latex paint
4 tubes of Latex caulk
2 cups of drywall mud

Recipe #4  -  ultra flexible, expensive
1 cup Jaxsan
1 cup latex paint

Recipe #5  -  cheap
1 cup glue
1 cup latex paint
1 cup Joint compound (wet or dry)

Recipe #6  - highly textural
1 cup glue
1 cup paint
1/2 cup – 2 cups texture
